G R Sexton (Contracting) Ltd, established in June 1972 by Mr G R Sexton and Mrs C M Lindsay in order to carry out a various range of Building and Civil engineering Contracts.

 

Mr Sexton is a fully qualified Civil Engineer (MICE) and prior to setting up his own company had worked for local authorities, other Contractors and Consulting Engineers. This included a period with J D & D M Watson working in Saudi Arabia on the design of a new sewage scheme for the city of Jeddah, design work on part of the M5 with Freeman Fox & Partners Assistant R.E. on the construction of a new sewage plant at South Benfleet in Essex as well as a number of years as Senior Design Engineer for a local Development Company.

 

Mr Geoff Sexton has now resigned as Managing Director and passed on this duty to his son Peter Sexton in 2002. Peter has worked within the company for many years as Director before being made Managing Director. He has completed an HNC and HND in building studies.

Christina Lindsay has also recently retired and Peter's wife Sarah Sexton has taken over the role of company secretary.

 

We have excellent industrial relations and some of our employees have been with the company since its formation in 1972. Training is a prime concern of our company and we seek to continually upgrade our operative knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation controlling Health & Safety, Construction Methods and quality Control. We fully support the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and all of our employees are registered with them.
